• Features of Spanco T-Series Gantry Cranes

    • Superior Stability: Engineered design leaves I-beam free to pivot as it self-centers over the load. The “true A-frame” design helps to maintain greater stability, virtually eliminating the swaying motion common to other 3-way adjustable gantry designs. Main legs, brace legs, and caster frames are made of heavy-gauge, square tubing with zinc-plated hardware.
    • Adjustable Span: Exclusive Spanloc™ design securely holds the I-beam during adjustments and when set.
    • Cantilever Options: Deliver materials through end of gantry; cantilever up to 25 percent of the rated capacity (4-foot max.) using a counterweight.
    • Adjustable Height: Adjust in 6-inch intervals using push/pull pins on main legs.
    • Adjustable Tread: A cable assembly is bolted inside the caster frame tubes to prevent overspreading.
    • Heavy-Duty Casters: Four position, swivel-lock casters with moldon polyurethane wheels protect floors from damage.

    Common Uses

Spanco is proud to serve customers in various industries, such as Space Exploration Technologies or SpaceX. SpaceX designs rockets and spacecraft and manufactures over half of its vehicles in-house. Their facility contains several work areas, including fabrication, machining, construction, and assembly cells. Workers at the facility needed a material handling solution to move heavy loads throughout their facility with increased accuracy and precision. That solution came in the form of a two-ton Spanco T-Series Gantry Crane. The T-Series Gantry Crane also provides greater adjustability to meet the rapidly changing size requirements within the SpaceX facility. Investing in a T-Series Gantry Crane allows SpaceX to improve production time and processing. By implementing the T-Series Gantry Crane, SpaceX could combine flexibility and precision while maintaining lift and cost-efficiency.

  • TRYING TO BOOST PRODUCTIVITY WITHOUT SACRIFICING SPACE?
Spanco Ceiling-Mounted Workstation Bridge Cranes provide unlimited lifting coverage without sacrificing floor space or obstructing work areas. Our Ceiling-Mounted Workstation Bridge Cranes eliminate the need for steel supports, making them a cost effective and ergonomic material handling solution. Spanco Ceiling-Mounted Workstation Bridge Cranes make the most of your existing building and production floor space. These systems:
    • Hang from existing building beams or trusses
    • Require no system support columns, no attachments to building columns, and no production floor space
    • Allow you to readily expand runway lengths and the number of bridges, and add transitions to monorail crane systems
  • LOOKING TO STREAMLINE YOUR MANUFACTURING PROCESS? Spanco Freestanding Workstation Bridge Cranes are the perfect ergonomic solution for extending lifting coverage and providing full access of movement. Our Freestanding Workstation Bridge Cranes can replace multiple cranes with one fluid system for improved efficiency and productivity.   Spanco Freestanding Workstation Bridge Cranes provide highly-effective cost-efficient lifting and moving solutions, especially when:
    • You need overhead crane coverage for a large area––up to 40-feet wide and with unlimited length. With interconnected parallel systems, you can cover your entire building
    • You rent or lease your building. Our bolt-together freestanding systems can be readily relocated, either within your plant or in an entirely new location
    • You want to be able to easily expand or modify your overhead crane system
    • Your roof support is inadequate for a Spanco Ceiling-Mounted Bridge Crane. Typically, a standard six-inch thick reinforced concrete floor is all that’s needed for our freestanding workstation bridge cranes for non-seismic applications
  • Spanco Headerless Workstation Bridge Cranes and Monorails are high-quality ergonomic material handling solutions, especially when you need a system in your garage, barn, or shop:
    • To move equipment and parts on a vehicle, such as an engine, a body of a race car, or a chassis for restoration.
    • To work on outdoor equipment, such as a motorcycle, boat, tractor, snowmobile, golf cart, or four-wheeler.
    • To lift anything up to 1,000 pounds safely by yourself.
  • Spanco Monorail Cranes are ideal for production processes that require lifting and moving products along a fixed path, such as painting processes, moving raw materials to workstations, or warehouse-to-warehouse transfer. Freestanding monorails are ideal when:
    • The building structure cannot support a crane
    • Ceilings have other obstructions (air ducts, skylights, overhead storage)
    • You need a semi-permanent solution due to rental agreements
    • You want a customized width and length
    • You want to use a floor-mounted monorail in conjunction with a ceiling-mounted system
  • Spanco Monorail Cranes are ideal for production processes that require lifting and moving products along a fixed path, such as painting processes, moving raw materials to workstations, or warehouse-to-warehouse transfer. Ceiling-mounted monorails are great for applications with limited floorspace, facilities with large mobile equipment, and facility layouts that might change in the future. They can readily connect to other monorail systems to extend coverage to multiple work areas or your entire facility.
    • Tripod Capacities: 1 or 2 tons
    • Height (to eyebolt): from 5’ 2” to 13’ 9”
    • Tripod Construction: steel or aluminum
Spanco tripod cranes can be used on all hard surfaces using our standard aluminum flat feet. You can also order your tripod with mud feet for soft ground. The mud feet have integral spikes to entrench the legs firmly and a wide flange to prevent the legs from sinking into the ground. For maximum flexibility on all surfaces, order both types of tripod feet.
    • Capacities: up to 2 tons
    • Travel Speeds: two-speed: 25/50 FPM; the inverter can be adjusted to provide speeds up to 100 FPM
    • Track Compatibility: Compatible with Spanco Enclosed Track only
  • The power drive kit includes: Two drives with drive wheels and sprockets; chains; two gear reducers; two single-speed, 230/460V, three-phase, TEFC motors; solid state, adjustable “soft start”; and two idler assemblies. Standard travel speed is 50 FPM.
    • V-Groove Track Drives: Two motors drive rigid steel V-groove wheels along a fixed path
    • Guide Angle Drives: Ideal for installations where the gantry runs along a wall, two motors drive polyurethane wheels that are guided on one side by a guide angle (locally sourced). The guide angle lags into the floor, typically at the base of a wall. The kit includes guide rollers on one drive and one idler assembly. Both drives and idlers come with polyurethane bumpers.
    • Truly Trackless (Aligning) Drives: Ideal when you need to keep your shop floor clear of any tracks or angle guides, a selector switch on the control pendant selectively turns each motor on and off to guide the gantry along
  • UNIVERSAL RETROFIT DRIVE FITS ANY FREESTANDING JIB CRANE WITH A BOX STYLE HEAD Spanco Retrofit Jib Drives feature a modular design that bolts onto the back of any box style head assembly, even those not manufactured by Spanco. Our jib drive features a high-efficiency electric motor and ultra-reliable worm gear reducer. The worm gear drives a set of large steel rollers fitted with polyurethane treads for exceptional durability and traction on the crane’s mast. The rollers are constantly kept at the correct pressure against the mast via a spring-loaded tension adjustment mechanism, assuring smooth operation. Jib Drive Control Panel: Includes mainline contactor, reversing magnetic contactors, thermal overload, 110V fused control transformer, branch circuit fusing to crane motor, and solid state “soft start” control adjustable for time and torque—all in a NEMA 3R enclosure.
